FAQ

How old do you have to be?
All ages are welcome, keep in mind that children under 8 years old may need help to land a large salmon or steelhead.

What age needs a fishing license?

Any person 17 or older needs a fishing license.

NOTE: 1 day licenses are available on the boat. You can also purchase a full season license prior to the trip via the internet at http://www.mdnr-elicense.com

How many people can go fishing?

All of our boats are large, roomy, and licensed to carry up to six passengers. We recommend 4 persons or fewer for a better experience. Small boat charters are limited to two people.

What time do charters depart?

Departure times vary from season to season, and when the best fishing will be. The Captain will let you know prior to your fishing date.

What do we do in bad weather?

We fish. Sometimes the fishing is better in the rain. Our boats are heated and enclosed, so we can fish in comfort. Of course if the lake is “rough,” we will reschedule or delay our starting time.

How do I book my charter?

I prefer people call me at 269-921-6997. I do my best to answer my cell phone 24 hrs (when I don’t have a fish on!). I would like to have a brief conversation with you so you can be totally prepared for your day.

NOTE: If you book with me, you fish with ME.

How do I pay for my charter?

I accept payment in all forms: cash, check, Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express.

What to Bring?

Food and beverages, camera, film, batteries, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, suitable clothing for weather (can be cold – lake or river), rain gear, cooler for fillets, SOFT-SOLED SHOES must be worn for Lake Michigan fishing, sea sickness medication (if you suffer from motion sickness in any way).
